King George 2.0 of Slabovia
INDUCTION CLASS OF 2025
Born George Bragg, the eventual two-time King of Slabovia began his micronational career in the 1980’s, although he wouldn’t join the greater community until 2014, where he has been a fixture working towards the betterment of the field of micronationalism.
Under his stewardship, Slabovia has become a case study in embracing audacity as a form of expression, taking a “half ludicrous, half serious” approach and leaving it to the observer to decipher which is which. This has led to one of the most unique and charming national identities in all of micronationalism.
King George has contributed significantly to the greater community, where he often takes part in online summits, such as the Digi Micro Summit, or appearing on micronational podcasts, such as Micro Improvement. In 2023, he drafted the first micronational treaty on cybersecurity, the Cyber Hostility Intervention Comprehensive Agreement Governing Offense (or CHICAGO) Agreement.
His Majesty’s efforts have often contributed to academic applications. He is believed to have coined the term “microphaleristics,” which is the field of study pertaining to orders, awards, and decorations as it pertains to micronationalism. He was instrumental in the establishing of the Microphalerist Educational Archive and Library of Slabovia (MEDALS, both the King and Slabovia love their acronyms), which is a database of physical awards and qualifying criteria in the community that is available for free online. In 2020, he served as one of the founding board members for the Micronational Hall of Excellence, where he still serves to help preserve and promote the history of micronationalism.
Perhaps the most notable achievements have been in and around MicroCon, an event he has attended since its inception in 2015. He led Slabovia as host of the 2019 iteration in Hamilton, Canada, which elevated the event into its current form and in many ways is still the standard subsequent years have been judged by. He is also among the handful of individuals who have presented at MicroCon the most consistently.
King George is deserving of induction to the hall, as a tongue-in-cheek breath of fresh air in a field that has benefitted from his many contributions.
